Daily Budget

On a trip, a traveller needs to have money, and enough that they don't run out. On my trip I will have a daily budget of $575.

Food-$50
Accommodations-$75
Travel-$150
Shopping-$100
Activities-$100
Emergency-$100

All together my trip will cost about $11000 at the most.

The Five "A's" Approach to the East Coast

Attractions:
      Biophysical:
Bay of Fundy: I would like to go to the bay of Fundy because of the drastic tidal change that occurs every 4-6 hours.
Farthest place east in Canada: I would like to set foot on the eastern most part of the country.
      Cultural:
Saint Johns Harbour: Saint Johns Harbour is Canada's most eastern major port. The only way in and out of the harbour is to go through the narrows which is the mouth of the harbour.

Cabot Tower: Cabot Tower is the the first site to transmit messages across the Atlantic Ocean

To get to the island of Newfoundland I will take the ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port aux Basques.

Accommodation:
Throughout my trip I will be staying in Motels to cut down on costs. The first night after my flight to New Brunswick I will be staying at the Fundy Bay Motel for $40. Motels have the luxury and privacy of your own house but are not near as expensive as hotels.  My second night in the Maritain's I will stay in the Cabot Trail Motel in Baddeck NS for  $65 - $125. Then the Next night will be in Newfoundland.

Activities:
Well I'm on my trip I will do lots of catch and release fishing. Other activities include going to the beach, going to museums and art galleries, visiting Cabot Tower, and shopping at locally owned businesses. The main purpose of my trip is to travel to see the country, so I will be doing a lot  of looking around at my stops and taking pictures.

Amenities:
What I need to feel comfortable on my trip is a clean and cosy place to stay, clean water, and good food.

Nova Scotia Tourism

Visa Requirements

Since I'm travelling within Canada I will not need any visa requirements.

Travel Motivators and Barriers

A travel motivator for this trip is that the traveller can learn about the different societies within the country they are travelling. the potential to learn something new can really motivate someone to travel, including me. Another motivator to travel is to experience different types of climate/weather. I think it would be neat to experience warm winter weather in the middle of the summer.
A travel barrier for my trip is the chance that it might rain when I'm on the coasts because no one likes to get rained on during a trip.

Climate Were Im Going

Daily average temperature will be about 17 degrees Celsius
Monthly average rain fall is 90 mm

Culture Shock

Canada is so diverse in culture form province to province (and territory to territory) that a traveller can experience experience culureshock without leaving Canada. As I start my journey on the east coast I might be shock by there way they talk. East Coasters have aa acsente and a way of talking that is different than the menotropoles province of Ontario. When I make for the north I will porbebly be shocked be the Native people of the north, the Inuit people. Since I am not well educated about them, and have heard many stereotypes about Inuit people, I might be shock at how much the same they are to us southeners.

Health and Safety

When travelling anywhere a traveller should always be up to date on mandatory vaccinations to ensure they do not catch and unwanted illnesses. One illnesses that I will have to watch out for is travellers diarrhoea. There is no vaccination for it but it can be prevented and subdued. Since I don't want to be caught with this irritating illness, I will always be carrying Imodium with me. Another way to prevent it is to only eat at restaurants that are kept busy to ensure that the food is not sitting still for extended periods of time.

Cost of traveling

Throughout my journey I will travel through regions with  very different monetary value. On the East Coast of Canada a purchased item will coast me slightly more than at home. As I move on in my tour of Canada to Nunavut, the cost of an item will increase very much. For example, the coast of Bread is around $2.50 at home, around  $4.00 in Newfoundland, and around $3.00 in Nunavut. Fresh produce in the north can be extremely expensive because of the transportation fees.
